Interesting problems usually don't fit neatly into boxes.
Neither has my work
My background crosses community leadership infrastructure, sustainability, resilience, emergency management, construction, organizational development and increasingly, creative practice
What connects these experiences isn't a particular discipline. It is curiosity, making connections, seeing things from different perspectives and creating something from what emerges.
I'm open to different ways of doing that.
It might be as part of an organization or team, through a project or contract, as a collaborator, through a creative project, or simply through an initial conversation that leads somewhere interesting.
Projects & Collaborations
I am particularly interested in work involving communities, infrastructure, environment, resilience and organizational capability especially where several of these intersect.
I don't maintain a fixed catalogue of services.
If you have a problem, opportunity, study, idea or project that needs to move forward, tell me about it.
Sometimes I can undertake the work directly. Sometimes my role is to help understand the problem, shape the project and bring together the people and expertise needed to make it happen.
Creative Projects
Not every question needs to become a report, plan or strategy.
I'm increasingly interested in exploring ideas through visual, physical and experiential forms particularly where art can help people see, feel or question something differently.
That could take the form of an installation, sculpture, ceramics, mapping, visual storytelling, public art, an exhibition, or a collaboration with other artists, communities or organizations.
I'm especially curious about creative work exploring our relationships with place, environment, community, change and one another.
I don't necessarily know what form those projects will take. That's part of what interests me.
If you have a space, question, material, community story or idea that feels like it could become something and you think my way of seeing might add something to it. I'd be interested in the conversation.
Roles & Organizations
I'm also interested in opportunities to become part of an organization where multidisciplinary thinking, leadership, collaboration, mentoring and building something meaningful are valued.
The right role matters more to me than a particular title or conventional career path.
I'm especially drawn to organizations doing meaningful work with communities and tackling problems that require people to work across traditional boundaries.
