Eco Insight originally began as an idea for a traditional environmental consulting business.

It didn't work.

Not because I had lost interest in environmental or community work, but because I was trying to turn what interested me into something too narrow and predetermined.

​

So I stopped trying to define Eco Insight by a list of services.

 

It became a place to explore.

​

To notice what is often overlooked.

To connect ideas that are usually separated.

To question assumptions.

To create.

​

And, increasingly, to act on what emerges.

 

Today, Eco Insight is part professional practice, part creative space and part exploration.

It exists alongside my broader professional life rather than defining it.

 

Some of what emerges here may lead to projects with communities or organizations. Some may influence the work I do as part of a larger organization or team. Other ideas may become research, collaboration, maps, art, writing—or simply remain questions worth exploring.

 

I am particularly drawn to complicated environmental, infrastructure, resilience and community challenges where disciplines overlap and the path forward isn't immediately obvious.

 

Rather than beginning with a predetermined service or solution, I prefer to begin with the problem itself: understanding the system, the people involved, what has already been done, what is getting in the way, and what might become possible by connecting things differently.

 

The form of the work can change.

The way I approach it remains remarkably consistent: curiosity, breadth, creativity, systems thinking and a desire to turn understanding into something useful.

Eco Insight remains a place to reflect and share.

It is also becoming a place to create, collaborate and act.

​

It evolves as I evolve.
